Contributors recalled it as a crowded, lively spot, and locals often referred to it simply as "12th and Vine" to keep outsiders from recognizing the reference. National gay guides listed it as "Pirate's Den, formerly The Forum" beginning in 1966 and as late as 1973. From December 1971 through April 1972 it was also advertised in GPU News as Marie's Get Involved Lounge, after which it no longer appears in local publications.
