Walker's Pint
Milwaukee
Summary
Walker's Pint opened on July 12, 2001, at 818 S. 2nd Street in Milwaukee's Walker's Point neighborhood, founded as a women's bar by Elizabeth "Bet'z" Boenning with co-owner Becky Persin. Boenning, who had previously worked at the women's bar Dish, set out to create a bright, welcoming corner-style tavern with large windows, in contrast to the darker bars common at the time. Known simply as "The Pint," the bar features a stage, game room, and patio spaces and has hosted numerous fundraisers and community events.
By the early 2020s it was one of only roughly two dozen lesbian bars remaining in the United States, and likely the last in Wisconsin.
