Triangle

Milwaukee

Summary

Triangle was a Milwaukee bar on East National Avenue that opened in June 1988 after Al Thomas bought the former lesbian bar D.K.'s and reopened it as a gay bar. Situated amid a growing concentration of LGBTQ bars, it became a popular early-evening and pre-closing stop for patrons heading to or from the nearby dance club La Cage, and over time added shows, events, and an outdoor patio. The bar passed through several owners, including Rob Bruckner and later James Marr, who performed as Lana St. James.

Following Marr's death in 2011 and a decline in business, the Triangle closed for good in the spring of 2012.
