DK's Tavern

National Avenue, operating from about 1985 to 1988. Run by an owner known as Dotie, it occupied a building that had been home to the popular lesbian bar Sugar Shack since 1976, and for a time it held a reputation as the city's premier lesbian bar. After business declined, the bar was sold to Alan Thomas, who initially kept it as a women's bar before converting it in June 1988 into a primarily gay men's bar renamed The Triangle.
