Club 219
Milwaukee
Summary
The location had earlier housed the dance bars Gary's and Circus Circus, and emerged as Club 219 after a brief stint as a bar called Trash. For much of the 1980s it was the city's leading destination for dance, drag performance, and male revues. After La Cage opened in 1984, Club 219 became the city's second major dance bar but continued to host regular shows. It drew national attention in 1991 when it was identified as a bar frequented by murderer Jeffrey Dahmer.
Declining crowds and neighborhood redevelopment led to its closure in 2005.
