Tina's / Tina's RTI

Tina's was a series of Milwaukee bars run by Ilet "Tina" Terry that served the city's African American LGBTQ community for well over a decade. Operating from a succession of north side locations, the bars were widely remembered as a consistent and welcoming gathering place, most recently at 634 W. North Avenue. Terry was killed in July 1993 when she came to the aid of her wounded doorman during a robbery at the bar, which closed soon afterward. Her death was described by community members as a profound loss.
