Hybrid Lounge
Milwaukee
Summary
Brady Street in Milwaukee, open from March 2010 to February 2017. Co-owners Nate Fried and Bill Lison, who had both worked at the LaCage dance club, designed it as a "hybrid" gay-and-straight neighborhood tavern, and it drew a mix of LGBTQ patrons and Brady Street regulars. The bar promoted itself as Milwaukee's first non-smoking gay bar and offered karaoke, trivia, drag events, food service, and sponsored sports teams. Fried became sole owner in 2014.
Hybrid closed in February 2017 after its landlord declined to renew the lease.
