Emeralds Bar & Lounge

Emeralds Bar and Lounge opened in April 1997 on East Hadley Street and operated as a bar and dance club. It advertised only a few times in the LGBTQ press and, based on its location and the events it hosted, appears to have served largely Milwaukee's Black LGBTQ community. The bar's last known listing appeared in June 2002, after which references to it disappear, suggesting it closed around that time. It had no connection to similarly named venues or pageants elsewhere in the region.
